Litle Gras Camp 2009

24th- 26th of September 2009, Balik Pulau, Nature Fruit Farm, Litle Gras Music Club, SMILES, LAUGHTER AND NEW FRIENDS.

24th of September, 11 am, marks the beginning of a journey for 34 hopeful members to the famous Balik Pulau, in the hopes of better future. Waaa, like very drama...
Camp commander's speech
Ice breaking (1 dot 1 dot 1 dot)

On arrival on campsite, tired and stoned faces is a norm in all the members faces, I bet it's due to the stupid bumpy journey that made our asses hurt. At the sight of the first few activities, smiles and laughter begin to pop, especially when Hui Min and Clifford was racing each other to see who gets more dots on their foreheads. (5 dot 5 dot 5 dot).

During the lego games session, I think everyone agrees with me that it 中庸 (zhong yong) is impossible not easy to act, and it is super hard to impress any judges. Some of us (Shi Neng and Kok Loong the great) even showed some 爱 (ai) to the judges, and still they failed to pass the session.

In the video session, I think that we all get a grasp of which direction we should move as a music club and how we should always improve ourselves. The videos were indeed inspirational and motivational. I do hope that everyone sees the videos as an encouragement to improve ourselves.

One thing that is for sure throughout the whole camp is that our members are excellent chefs. Super creative in mixing ingredients (ehem), egg, kaya, strawberry with sausages, all spread on a bread actually tastes good.
Smiles eventhough have to do morning exercise 好!(HOU!!)

And a BIG thank you Sze Hui for the excellent warming up and morning exercise. I think it is really a wake up call. 好!(HOU!)
Then the torture begins, wakakakakaka.... kabaddi, water pail game, 1,2 juice and human sedan chair (kabaddi is the best right? hahaha). From losing breath in kabaddi, getting to losing your direction in human sedan chair, I do believe everyone had the time of their lives, throwing water to anyone that they see. But I do wonder, sometimes why the station masters get more wet than those playing the game. I believe that next time, the committee just have to plan a station with a tap, a hose, pails and a lot of water, and everyone will have an excellent time.
Kabaddi kabaddi kabaddi (Darrel being dragged)Jouk Ya: DON'T DROP ME!!!Cheers and jeers

Dead body found at the campsite, everyone is running away

After the first round of physical torture, the second round begins. Telematch.... muahahaha... The 10 rounds on the ground is a big killer, I can see people running to attack the committees that were just looking at the side. But the biggest casualty of the telematch was Clifford's spectacles, so sorry about that. I do applause all the members for helping each other out when things was hard to achieve (I bet some of you are cursing the committees for putting spinning part in the telematch =) ).
Hock siang spraying water, you can find him now for revenge =)Kok Choy losing balance behind
After the long day of physical torture, all members went through a mental and aptitude development. Here, we can see that, communication, teamwork, knowledge in our field, planning, trust, execution and many more (just in case I didn't name any, lol) is very important in creating an excellent club. There are no I in a TEAM, we should always work together and achieve our goals.
Listen and you shall learn

Then the night falls, vultures and vampires scavenge the lands, in seek of food and fire (The campfire begins). Our cooking skills were put to test when we had to BBQ our meals. I think most of us had black kampung chicken instead of nice marinated BBQ chicken.

Wai Yung emo..

WOHHHH!!
Kok You's mouth open so bigOur campfire is burning~
One thing that I was really really really impressed throughout the whole camp is the talent show presentation (A big round of applause to you guys). To those that do not know, the talent show presentation is a session during the campfire where each team are supposed to perform a song.

The challenge of the activity is that, the group has to teach someone to play a musical instrument from zero to performing, within 2 days time. The groups are to change the lyrics of the songs with the words that were proposed to them. Throughout the whole night, we can people expressing their love towards white coffee, some groups advised the london bus not to drive too fast as it will get summons, listening to a fairy tale story of a girl having a crush on a guy, and Darrel doing his solo on keyboard. Encores for Darrel's solo =).
Teacher and the student

Then, the sing along session held by Clifford (thank you cliff). That was the first time I can see how people can syok sendiri. No, wait, the first time was during fellowship night by the first years.
The night ending slow with sharing. Sharing of thoughts, opinions, compliments, thanks and many more. Wonderful end for a wonderful night.

The next day was the day with the best activities, closing ceremony, prize giving, conclusion, photo session (cam whoring), and the most importantly, CLEANING UP. Congratulations yellow team on winning the best team award.
Fruits of the day

Well, although the camp has ended, but the laughter does not end there. I think that many of us enjoyed the camp, met many new faces and strengthen old ties. With this, I do hope that the friendship does not end there. This world will not mean anything if we do not have anyone to share our happiness. So I urge all Litle Grasian, stand up and stand tall, be one and be great together.

We can take on the world!

Lets do our last chant...

New Camp Site Proposed : Nature Fruit Farm Resort

Due to the requirements of activities to suit our theme and objectives, we the organizing committee has conducted a second camp site survey today to look for a better camp site.

We eventually come to decide that we will be organizing our first ever LitleGras annual camp in Balik Pulau. The place was known as Nature Fruit Farm Resort. It was actually a chalet in the middle of a fruit farm. Durian trees and other fruit trees, together with a variety of green lush, and also a shallow stream are around the chalet. It was a quiet place and no neighbours around so close that you scare will disturb them and getting complaint when we are running our activities.

Other advantages are,
1. It has larger space for our interactive activities with electricity supply to cater our amplifier for guitars and keyboards. We also don't need to worry that our activities will cause disturbance to other users that stay around us as in the case of Sri Sayang Apartment Resort.

2. Facilities provided are better with refrigerator, bread toaster, water heater, karaoke set, external kitchen outside the chalet equipped with basic cooking utensils and cookery(which is very suitable for camp fire and barbecue party). The chalet is also air-conditioned in all its bedrooms and living room.

Fellowship Night

Hi all,

Litle Gras is having it's first fellowship night. You might ask "What is this fellowship night?" Well, I can say it's one way for us to meet and get closer with other members of Litle Gras Music Club, from juniors to super super old ones (you know who you are, lol) . You can meet students of other instrument groups, from other management teams, and meet more leng zhai, leng lui.
This fellowship will be held on this Thursday (27th August 2009). The program will start at 8 pm, but please come earlier at 7.30pm to help out in the preparation. The program will be held in DK 11, the same DK that we always use.
What to expect? Fun based activities, meeting new people, sing along to songs, having new friends, loads of laughter with lots of smiles. Leave all your sorrows and baggage behind and come to enjoy.
I know most of us are having tests and evaluations, very stressful... So this is an opportunity for you to unwind, sit back and relax. Good luck to all in tests... See you all on Thursday.

Signing out,

Kok Loong
