LGM Musical Camp 2012

WELL HERE IT IS! Our Litlegras Musical Camp 2012. This post is a response for those who didn't go to the camp. Hope you guys live in regrets after reading this post!!! You just miss one HELLUVA camp! Nah, just joking~

It was a beautiful Saturday morning (8/12/12). After much detouring, we finally reached our destination which is the Balik Pulau Fruit Farm.

Perfect escape from University Stress Malaysia

This ain't a wedding, just a camp
durians everywhere!

After settling our stuffs, we are divided into 4 groups in which we came out with funny names like ACE, DAI DEE, C^3 and YEAH, not forgetting the group cheers. The first game that we played was a simple game of Rock-Paper-Scissors. In order to win, we have to defeat the opponent in each stage and progress to next stage. The stages are Egg, Chick, Pheonix, and Human. Moving over, was our composing session. Conducted by Zi Xun and tumbleweed senior who is an expert in song composing (publishing level), Kok Choy. And the task : Each group has to come out with a lyric. There were no specifications to how the lyric was supposed to be. Some wrote about Durian, how 2 separated people used to be good friends, diary of a university student and motivation song to psyche one up.

Next, we played an unforgiving water game, something similar to that of 'Battleship'. In this game, each group has to position their 'bombs' on the map and at the same time providing an escape route for the opponent. Everyone had their best time playing with water. We do have a great time giving Arthur his shower. Haha.

Fast forward to dinner time. We had steamboat! Many thanks to those who prepared for the food. I know the seniors wanted to join us for the water game, but they had to make preparation. But hell it was a great steamboat. The food was awesome. Wide arrays of food. One word. Awesome! Thank you!

Drooling...

Right after this, we had a small sharing session from the Tumbleweed seniors (Kok Choy, Arthur, Qing Xian, Jing Yao, Hsien Ming, Fabien and Janice). They told us about their stories in LGM. How they used to start off like anyone of us with no basic into someone with skills. And of course those skills will not be left behind once we have come out from LGM. And it’s from that session, I discovered the ugly secret of a 'play' button. Haha. Well those sharing were precious, one should always think of how they want to leave their legacy behind.

Before bedtime, we played a simple game, or should i say deceptive game called 'angels and demons'. Now we all know how Stefany looks like when she is lying..

Everyone got so high that neither of them wants to go to bed. Apparently this camp trains everyone to be professional cheaters. Oh gawd.

"Sunday morning rain is falling..", after breakfast and simple aerobic session, we resume to our song composing. This time we are required to complete the song with both lyric and melody. Time were limited, but we managed to write till the half of the song which is from verse 1 to chorus. Moving on, is our station games. And we had 9 of them!! Look the photos below for self explanatory. Getting lazy to type. Haha.

We prove the world that girls aren't weak!

Arthur : "i am too old for this"

Finally, it was time for each group to present their songs. *drum roll*

Everybody waiting anxiously for the presentation

Kok choy commenting at publishing level

Yin xing de fen ge xian

Haha. And of course every camp needs a camp song in which we have one which is very simple yet addictive~! lalalalalala~!

Next was the prize giving ceremony. Appreciation token was given to the committees and tumbleweed seniors.

This is the last time i am going to ask,
 WHERE IS MY DURIAN??..

Of course there won't be any awesome musical camp without Kit ting aka Liu Lian Gong Chu and the rest of the committees. Thank you!

Well in a nutshell, its proud to say that we've achieved the purpose of the camp . We manage to produce 4 songs in less than half a day ( you guys deserve a pat on the shoulder!). We hope that from the camp, everyone should start having that passion towards song composing. One should not be afraid to start composing song though it may seem difficult from the start. Everyone has their own melody and story to tell, just put them on a piece of paper or record the melody down. Send all of them to us, and together we will produce that song.

So start writing then~ lalalalalala~!
